
At the 94th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held on September 28, 2025, Rajya Sabha Member Sana Sathish Babu from Andhra Pradesh was appointed to the prestigious Infrastructure and Facilities Committee.
This committee is crucial to shaping cricket’s future in India, overseeing the construction and modernization of stadiums, establishing training centers, maintaining international standards for pitches and grounds, and supervising large-scale infrastructure projects.
The committee is chaired by Rohan Jaitley, with members including Mithun Manhas, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Prabhtej Bhatia, A. Raghuram Bhat, Anirudh Chaudhury, and now, Sana Sathish Babu.
Babu’s induction is being celebrated widely in Andhra Pradesh, with sports enthusiasts and activists expressing optimism that his role will help bring advanced facilities to the state.
His appointment is expected to pave the way for new stadiums, upgraded grounds, and world-class training hubs capable of hosting international matches in Andhra Pradesh.
The move also highlights Andhra Pradesh’s rapid progress under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, supported by youth leader Nara Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
With Sathish Babu now part of the BCCI’s infrastructure decision-making, the state is poised to strengthen its presence in India’s sporting landscape.
