Sacked Jana Sena leader cries foul over Pawan

Jana Sena Party leader Vinuta Kota, who was suspended from the party and also the post of in-charge of the Srikalahasti assembly constituency in Tirupati district, following her arrest in the case related to the murder of her car driver, resurfaced in public discourse again.

On Friday, Vinuta wrote an open letter to party president and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, voicing concerns over the political developments in the constituency and the appointment of the chairman of the sacred Bhramaramba Srikalahasteeswara Swamy Temple Trust Board.

It may be recalled that Vinuta Kota was arrested by the Chennai police in connection with a car driver’s murder case and was recently released on bail. As per bail conditions, she is currently residing outside the constituency.

Vinuta strongly opposed the appointment of Kotte Sai Prasad as chairman of the temple trust board. She argued that entrusting such a revered position in a holy pilgrimage centre to a man who shows no respect for women was inappropriate.

She alleged that Sai Prasad was one of the key figures in a political conspiracy against her and he had got her arrested in the driver murder case.

She stated that she had already submitted all evidence regarding this matter to Pawan Kalyan’s secretariat team at the Jana Sena Party central office.

“However, she suspected that her grievances had not reached Pawan Kalyan’s attention,” she said.

Vinuta further recalled that during the previous YSRCP regime, many sincere and dedicated Jana Sena workers in Srikalahasti had worked tirelessly for the party.

“We took up door-to-door for campaigns, fighting bravely in local body elections, facing police assaults, enduring cases, imprisonment, and even women activists who participated fearlessly,” she said.

She asserted that such workers were far more deserving of the temple trust chairmanship.

She appealed to Pawan Kalyan stating that the post be given to someone who had genuinely sacrificed for the party.

“Sai Prasad tried to physically eliminate me, tarnish my character, and drive me away from politics,” Vinuta said and insisted that it was not appropriate to appoint him to such a sacred post.
