A decade after their divorce, filmmaker Priyadarshan and his former wife Lissy Lakshmi have reunited and are now living together again.
The couple, who officially separated in September 2016, have rekindled their relationship but have chosen not to remarry.
In an interview, Priyadarshan confirmed their reunion, saying that except for a marriage certificate, they are leading the same life together once again.
Sources close to the family revealed that actor Mammootty personally met the couple and expressed his happiness over their reunion.
He had recently visited Lissy’s Chennai studio, Le Magic Lantern, for a voice recording related to director Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming project.
According to insiders, the couple’s children—actress Kalyani Priyadarshan and Siddharth—played a key role in bringing them back together.
The decision to reunite was reportedly made six to eight months ago. The couple believes that companionship, friendship, and love are more important than a formal marriage.
Priyadarshan and Lissy were married in 1990 and shared a long relationship before filing for divorce in 2014, which was finalised in 2016.
At the time, Lissy had described the separation as difficult and intense, reflecting the challenges in their marriage.
Priyadarshan had earlier stated that ego issues were one of the main reasons behind their split. Now, after years apart, the two seem to have found a way to reconnect and move forward together.
