Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its unstoppable box office rampage. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, the sequel to the 2025 blockbuster hit screens on March 19 after paid previews on March 18.
The spy action thriller, also starring Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi, delivered a record-breaking opening weekend with ₹466 crore net in India and around ₹761 crore worldwide in just four days.
The momentum carried into Monday as well. According to early estimates, the film collected around ₹65 crore on Day 5, taking its India net total to ₹531 crore.
Its global gross has now crossed ₹826 crore, putting it firmly on track to touch the ₹1000 crore mark within its first week.
The film has also set a new benchmark for a Bollywood film on its first Monday, beating Tiger 3, which had collected ₹59.25 crore on the same day in 2023.
Set against the volatile backdrop of Lyari in Karachi, Dhurandhar 2 blends high-stakes espionage with real-world geopolitical events such as the Kandahar hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
The sequel goes deeper into the story, tracing the rise of Hamza Ali Mazari while exploring his past as Jaskirat Singh Rangi and his transformation into a ruthless operative.
The film also draws inspiration from several real-life developments across South Asia, including Operation Lyari, the 2014 Indian general elections, and the 2016 demonetisation move. Yami Gautam makes a cameo appearance in the film.
Backed by music from Shashwat Sachdev, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
