Pothina Mahesh quits Jana Sena at last!

At last, senior Jana Sena Party leader from Vijayawada Pothina Venkata Mahesh resigned from the party, day after he lost the opportunity to contest the assembly elections from Vijayawada (West) assembly constituency.

Mahesh dashed off a letter to party president and power star Pawan Kalyan, saying he was resigning from the primary membership of the party.

He thanked all the Jana Sena Party leaders, including women fighters and party cadre for cooperating with him.

Mahesh, who was promised the Jana Sena Party ticket from Vijayawada (west) assembly constituency, was terribly upset as the seat was allotted to the Bharatiya Janata Party as part of alliance.

Former Union minister Y S Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary has been given the BJP ticket for the same.

It was only on Saturday that Mahesh had a meeting with Jana Sena Party political affairs committee convenor Nadendla Manohar and discussed with him his future course of action. But he did not get any assurance from him.

Later in the day, he held a meeting with his well-wishers and supporters in the constituency to take their suggestions on what he should do. Apparently, majority of them asked him to quit Jana Sena Party and contest as an independent.

Interestingly, even after quitting, Mahesh continued to have the pictures of Pawan Kalyan and flags of Jana Sena on his social media handle X and he continued the hashtag of Jana Sena Party and JSP Shataghni team.
