After a strong opening, Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, witnessed a significant drop in collections on its second day at the box office.
The Telugu spy thriller, which earned approximately ₹18 crore nett on its opening day, saw its Friday earnings fall to around ₹7.5 crore nett. The noticeable dip is likely due to the film’s mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.
Despite the drop, Kingdom holds the distinction of being the biggest opener of Vijay Deverakonda’s career.
The film created a strong impact in the Telugu market, with better-than-expected turnout on Day 1. As per trade reports from Sacnilk, the film’s two-day total stands at an estimated ₹25.5 crore nett.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom faced multiple delays before finally releasing on July 31.
It has already outperformed Deverakonda’s previous release The Family Star, which opened at ₹5.75 crore, and even surpassed the opening day figures of his 2024 film Khushi, which made ₹15.25 crore on Day 1.
Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, the film also stars Satyadev and Bhagyashri Borse in key roles.
As the weekend unfolds, all eyes are on whether Kingdom can regain momentum at the box office.
