Kotamreddy all set to defect to TDP?

It is more or less certain that rebel YSR Congress party MLA from Nellore (rural) Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy is most likely to jump the fence and join the Telugu Desam Party in a day or two.

According to reports from Nellore, Kotamreddy might resign from the party on Tuesday or Wednesday. It is not immediately known whether he will resign from the assembly membership as well, but he is expected to join the TDP sooner or later.

The Nellore (rural) MLA, who has been sulking for quite some time, held a series of meetings with his party followers, friends and well-wishers in the last 24 hours and decided that it is better to quit the YSRC party than staying back to face further humiliation every day.

However, he is assessing the situation as what his future could be. His well-wishers reportedly told him that it would be better to join the TDP, rather than fighting a lone battle.

Some senior leaders of the TDP are said to be in touch with him and he is learnt to have decided to join the TDP.

On the other hand, Jagan, too, is getting ready to find an alternative to Kotamreddy in Nellore rural constituency. But since his resignation will have at least some impact on the adjacent constituencies, the YSRC chief is not taking it easy.

Sources said Jagan is learnt to have identified a couple of leaders who can replace Kotamreddy in the constituency. He reportedly offered the constituency in-charge post to Kotamreddy’s brother Giridhar Reddy or Anam Vijayakumar Reddy.
