Jagan Presents Silk Robes To Goddess Kanaka Durga

The Goddess Kanaka Durga is giving blessings to the devotees as “Saraswathi Devi” Alankaram on Wednesday in the Durga Temple at Indrakeeladri hills. 

As a part of Dusheera celebrations, Goddess Durga Devi was offered pooja’s as “Saraswathi Devi” Alankaram on the fifth day of Navaratri.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy presented silk robes to the presiding deity Goddess Kanaka Durga on Wednesday evening at Durga Temple and perform to Goddess Durga Matha on “Moola Nakshatram” as Goddess as “Saraswathi Devi” Alankaram.

Dressed in a traditional attire, the CM was accorded a ceremonial poorna kumbha swagatam, a traditional welcome by Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam priests and officials. 

The CM was adorned with traditional headgear by the temple priests.

He carried the pattu vastrams (silk robes) on a platter over his head amidst vedic chants with the accompaniment of Nadaswaram and Melam to the temple.

He offered prayers to the goddess seeking blessings for the people of the State.

Besides offering the silken raiment, Jagan also unveiled the temple's 2021 calendar and sanctioned Rs 70 crore for its development.

Located on a hill near the banks of Krishna river, the Kanadurga Temple is very popular in the Telugu states.
