Though the fate of all political parties in Andhra Pradesh in the just concluded elections to the state assembly has been sealed in the electronic voting machines, the ruling YSR Congress party and the opposition NDA partners – TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP are pretty confident of their victory.
The high turnout of voters at the polling stations in Pithapuram assembly constituency has made Jana Sena Party workers jubilant, as they are extremely confident that the party president and actor Pawan Kalyan will win the election for the seat hands down.
So much so that within hours of the polling, the Jana Sena Party workers started trolling veteran Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham, who had joined the YSRCP before elections and vowed to defeat Pawan Kalyan in Pithapuram.
Mudragada even made an open declaration that he would change his name to Mudradgada Padmanabha Reddy, if Pawan Kalyan wins the election from Pithapuram.
He even disowned his own daughter Kranthi who criticised her father and supported Pawan Kalyan.
Soon after the polling, the Jana Sena Party workers circulated an invitation on social media, to make fun of Mudragada’s vow to acquire Reddy tag to his name, if he did not defeat Pawan Kalyan in the elections.
The invitation is titled as “Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy Namakarana Mahotsava Ahwaana Patrika,” saying it was to celebrate the name-change of Mudragada as Padmanabha Reddy.
The invitation imitates Mudragada’s style of addressing people, calling everybody as “andi.” It said: “A special invitation to all Kapu brothers and sisters for an event at Kirlampudi in East Godavari district at 6 pm on June 4, 2024.”
The invitation said the Kapu community is hopeful that the gentleman would stand by his word on change of his name as “Padmanabha Reddy” after Pawan Kalyan wins the elections in 2024 general elections from Pithapuram.
“So, we request all of you to grace the occasion and make this memorable event a grand success,” it said.
“PS: Please bring your own Upma and Coffee to the event,” it added, with a satirical punch.
