Will KCR Allow Kodanda's Public Meeting?

The other day, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ran down Telangana Joint Action Council (TJAC) chairman Prof Kodandaram in the strongest terms and ridiculed him for overestimating his strength and calling for public meetings and dharnas.

“Who is Kodandaram to give call for bandhs and rallies? Is he a Mahatma Gandhi or a national leader? He cannot even win the post of a sarpanch. If he calls for a public meeting, not even 500 people will respond,” KCR challenged.

Kodandaram seems to have taken it as a challenge. He has now called for a massive public meeting to be held in Hyderabad on October 31.

The public meeting in the name of “‘Koluvulakai Kotlaata’ (fight for jobs) is to highlight the indifferent attitude of the TRS government towards unemployed youth in Telangana and his stubborn stand in not filling up job vacancies.

On Monday, Kodandaram met the mother of Ramakrishna who died after suffering from depression, having lost hopes on the government which created inordinate delay in giving DSC notification.

Leaders from the Congress and the BJP, along with TJAC leaders, went to meet the aggrieved family members to offer their support. They also extended their solidarity with Kodandaram in his fight against KCR government.

But the question is whether KCR will allow Kodanda to organise a public meeting in Hyderabad.

As the previous experience shows, the police will never give permission for Kodanda’s public meetings in Hyderabad.

He will be put under house arrest and the people coming from districts would be arrested on the outskirts. So, Kodanda will never get the chance to face KCR’s challenge!
