Venkaiah to Naidu's rescue on Polavaram?

With the Union water resources ministry creating all sorts of hassles for the Andhra Pradesh in completing Polavaram major irrigation project, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to have sought the help of his old friend – Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu to resolve the crisis.

Venkaiah is understood to have called the officials of the water resources ministry to his office and held closed door discussions with them.

He also had a talk with Union water resources minister Nitin Gadkari and requested that the construction of the project go on smoothly without any queries from the officials.

He also sent Visakhapatnam MP Kambhapati Hari Babu, a close associate of Venkaiah and BJP state unit president to Gadkari, to sort out all the issues and request Gadkari to bail out Chandrababu Naidu from the crisis situation.

Apparently, Hari Babu also told the minister that if the project was completed as per the schedule, it would help both the TDP as well as the BJP.

Hari Babu said that Gadkari had agreed to cooperate with the existing contractors, besides ensuring that the funds were released as per the schedule.

The minister also agreed to funds to cement companies so that they could supply cement to the project without any hurdles.
