Pawan Kalyan created significant political attention earlier when he strongly projected himself as a protector of Sanatana Dharma and even participated in campaign activities in Tamil Nadu.
However, with the Tamil Nadu elections scheduled for April 23, he has not yet been directed by the BJP leadership to actively campaign in the state.
There could be several strategic reasons for this.
First, the BJP high command might have felt that Pawan Kalyan's campaign may not be fruitful for the party as his stature or image in Tamil Nadu is not sufficient.
For that, the BJP may be prioritizing local leaders who understand regional issues, language dynamics, and grassroots networks better.
Second, the BJP may feel that Pawan Kalyan’s campaign may become counterproductive instead of giving positive results.
Another possibility is that the party is carefully timing campaign appearances. Political parties often deploy star campaigners closer to polling day to maximize visibility and momentum.
Therefore, Pawan Kalyan’s absence so far does not necessarily mean he will not campaign at all, but rather that the BJP may be waiting for a more strategically effective moment.
