TRS To Kick Up Telangana Sentiment Again!

TRS To Kick Up Telangana Sentiment Again!

Formation of separate Telangana was the most emotional issue in 2014 elections and the people voted for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi to power only because it was a purely Telangana party which has no interest in any other state, though it was the Congress party which had granted the statehood.

So, the TRS could capitalise on the Telangana sentiment in 2014. But once the Telangana is formed, there is no scope for any such sentiment, as the people got what they had fought for.

Now, whichever political party that contests the elections in Telangana, they have to work only for the Telangana state.

The poll plank now will be the development and welfare and not the same old Telangana sentiment.

But, the TRS does not think so. Apparently realising that there has been a growing resentment among the people over the four-year government of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the TRS wants to rake up the Telangana sentiment again, stating that any vote for the Congress party or the Bharatiya Janata Party would only undo the benefits got by the Telangana after the formation of separate state.

That is precisely why KCR’s son and IT Minister K T Rama Rao has been telling at every public meeting to vote for the TRS which is the only genuine Telangana party and not the Congress or the BJP which have interests in other states as well.

KTR says the Telangana needs its own party and public representatives, not Congress, TDP, or BJP.

“Four years ago, the then rulers and government ridiculed the cause of separate statehood. A chief minister had even cursed that the lives of people would be ruined if Telangana was formed. Another chief minister wondered whether TRS would be able to rule the State,” KTR recalled.

He said the Congress was trying to stall development works across the State.

“It is trying to prevent good governance. All that it wants is to bring back the complexity experienced during its 50 years of rule. If we want to achieve golden Telangana, all sections of society should think unitedly about what the future holds for them,” KTR said.
