Peddi, starring Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas.
The point, however, is that the film was initially supposed to release in the last week of March, but it was postponed because the content was not ready. Of course, even if it had been ready, Dhurandhar: The Revenge would likely have forced the makers to postpone it anyway.
As of now, the release is being planned for April 30. However, sources say that it may get delayed further as the content might not be locked even by then.
With so many delays and continuous shooting schedules, the budget may have already crossed its planned limits.
Sources say the discussions went on longer wasting time regarding who should be placed in the item song. While Mrunal Thakur is reportedly locked, there are talks about whether more actresses should be added to the song.
But if a song has real power, it will stand irrespective of who dances in it. If it does not, it simply will not work.
It should be recalled that during the decision about a special song in Vishwambhara, when Mouni Roy was finalized, many reportedly suggested that there could be better actresses for the role. To that, Chiranjeevi apparently replied that if the song has power, it will stand on its own, no matter who performs in it.
At least Buchi Babu, the director of Peddi, should learn from such lessons and implement them in his film instead of burning the producer’s pockets.
In today’s world, every penny matters, as it is not easy to recover investments either from the public or from OTT platforms as easily as before.
