Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj is likely to contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in the ensuing general elections.
According to BJP sources, party leaders from the State are prevailing on Sushma to contest from Secunderabad, which was once a bastion of the saffron party.
Her contest from Telangana would give a big boost to the BJP in the elections and it can win at least a dozen assembly seats, say sources.
Sushma is likely to visit the State capital after the President gave assent to Telangana Bill. On the occasion, the BJP will organize a public meeting as Telangana Bill was passed in Parliament with BJP support.
Sushma Swaraj would address the meeting likely to be organized on February 28 here, party sources said. However, a final decision would be taken in a day or two, the sources added.
The State party was considering to organize meetings in Telangana and Seemandhra very soon and party president Rajnath Singh and Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi are likely to participate.
