Stage set for Vangaveeti's return to YSRC

It appears stage is set for the return of prominent Kapu leader and former legislator Vangaveeti Radhakrishna into the YSR Congress party sooner than later.

Radha, who is presently in the Telugu Desam Party, might call it quits to the party anytime. In any case, he has not been very active in the TDP for quite some time.

The return of Radha into the YSRC was more or less confirmed with the announcement made by the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government providing him security with four armed reserve police personnel in two shifts (2+2), within hours of the former MLA declaring that he was facing threat to his life.

On the occasion of his father Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga’s death anniversary on Sunday, Radha said he had confidential information that some people had conducted recce at his house with a view to eliminate him.

He, however, did not mention any names of the suspects from whom he was facing the threat to his life. But his statement was brought to the notice of Jagan Mohan Reddy by civil supplies minister Kodali Nani, who attended Ranga's death anniversary.

Within no time, Jagan ordered security cover to Radha and also asked the intelligence chief to find out who the people were who had conducted recce at Radha’s residence.

Before parting ways with the YSRC in 2019, Radha made serious comments against Jagan Mohan Reddy and the party. So, one would suspect that he might be facing threat only from the YSRC leaders.

But with the YSRC MLAs attending his father’s death anniversary and Jagan quickly providing security to Radha indicates that he might be facing threat from leaders from some other party.

It also has given an indication that Jagan has given clearance to Radha’s return to the YSRC. In all probability, there would be some clarity on this issue in a couple of days.
