Day 5: Vishnu Manchu's Film Slows Down

Vishnu Manchu’s mythological action drama Kannappa, featuring star cameos by Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal, hit theaters on June 27.

The film opened to decent reviews and got off to a strong start at the box office, earning ₹9.25 crore on Day 1.

It maintained a moderate performance over the weekend, collecting ₹7.15 crore on Day 2 and ₹6.9 crore on Day 3.

Kannappa saw a massive drop in collections on its first Monday and earned ₹ 2.3 crore.

On Day 5 (Tuesday), the film managed to earn only ₹1.46 crore, bringing its total domestic collection to an estimated ₹27.16 crore.

The slowdown in collections has raised concerns about the film's long-term performance at the box office.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa is a Telugu mythological devotional drama based on the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva.

Vishnu Manchu not only plays the titular role but also penned the story for the film.
