An unexpected twist has emerged in the suicide case of Telugu journalist Swetcha.
Until now, it was widely believed that she was in a live-in relationship with a man named Poorna Chandra.
However, it has now been revealed that the two were secretly married. Their wedding reportedly took place at the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada.
Swetcha’s father, Shankar, released photos of her wearing a mangalsutra, taken as a selfie, confirming the marriage.
He stated that he had no knowledge of his daughter’s wedding and only learned about it after her death. He also revealed the possible reason behind keeping the marriage a secret.
According to him, Poorna Chandra was already married. Despite this, he married Swetcha.
As he was reportedly nurturing political ambitions, he feared that news of his second marriage could damage his career.
Hence, he chose to keep the marriage under wraps. Swetcha, too, kept it a secret. These are the allegations made by her father.
It also came to light — through a letter written by Poorna Chandra — that Swetcha had previously been married twice and divorced.
If her father’s claims are to be believed, this was her third marriage.
Meanwhile, Swetcha’s daughter has made shocking allegations against Poorna Chandra, accusing him of inappropriate behavior.
Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences).
Following court orders, Poorna Chandra has been remanded in custody.
