Seema Stir, A Blessing In Disguise For Naidu

The agitation for separate Rayalaseema being planned by a section of Seema leaders from the Congress and the YSR Congress party to embarrass Telugu Desam Party president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will, in fact, be a blessing for the latter, say political observers.

According to them, Naidu is pretty well aware that the separate Rayalaseema demand is not sustainable because it has only four districts.

“It would have been different scenario, had it been Rayala Telangana. With no water resources and poor infrastructure facilities, Rayalaseema as a State cannot sustain. So, it is only a political demand by a few leaders and there may not be much response from the people of the region as such, though these leaders might try to raise a sentiment,” an observer said.

On the other hand, it would help Naidu to gain a lot of political mileage in Coastal Andhra, for focusing on Amaravati despite he being from Rayalaseema.

At the same time, Naidu would also try to project YSR Congress party as a Kadapa-based party with bias towards Jaganmohan Reddy’s district.

“And if Naidu can secure a package for backward districts of Anantapur and Kurnool, he would get the advantage,” the observer said.
