Sai Reddy's Sudden Hindu Love: BJP Bound?

Sai Reddy's Sudden Hindu Love: BJP Bound?

Former YSR Congress party general secretary and ex-Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy appears to be inching towards the Bharatiya Janata Party, if his latest comments on social media in support of Hindus and Hindutva agenda are any indication.

Sai Reddy on Saturday reacted sharply on the growing incidents of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and expressing grave concern over what they describe as serious human rights violations.

Sai Reddy took to social media platform X to express his anguish and anger over the developments. Describing the attacks as “genocide,” he said the situation was deeply disturbing and unacceptable.

“Are those who do not condemn the genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh even Indians?” he asked, in a strongly worded post.

He further questioned whether political parties that fail to denounce such violence have any moral right to function in India.

Escalating his rhetoric, he warned that those who remain silent or refuse to condemn the attacks should be socially and politically isolated, stating that such indifference amounts to a betrayal of humanity and national values.

The former MP’s comments have intensified the debate as to whether he is trying to impress the BJP national leadership and get closer to the saffron brigade.

The other day, Sai Reddy joined the BJP chorus in opposing illegal immigrants into India from Bangladesh and other countries.

He said: “The Supreme Court has rightly held that illegal immigrants do not have rights in India. India cannot divert its limited public resources to citizens of other countries merely because their home nations are unstable.”

“I fully support the resolve of Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji and Hon’ble HM @AmitShah ji to identify, prevent, and deport illegal immigrants,” he added.

He also demanded autonomy to temples and that the governments should keep away from temple administration.

“The issue of state control over Hindu temples deserves a sincere and balanced review. Unlike institutions of other faiths that function with full autonomy, Hindu temples are regulated through government administered boards,” he said.

“I urge Hon’ble HM @AmitShah ji to consider comprehensive evaluation of current system to end this discriminatory regime and bring religious equality. With these perspectives in mind, so that fairness, constitutional equality, and the sanctity of Hindu traditions are all upheld. #FreeHinduTemples,” he said.

Sai Reddy also supported the latest decision of the Narendra Modi government to amend the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and rename it “VB–G RAM G” Act. He described it as a forward-looking reform.
