It looks like Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to neutralise the impact of his arch rival YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy without wasting any time.
One such strategy is to visit those areas which are toured by the Leader of the Opposition within a couple of days.
On Saturday, Naidu made extensive tour of Eluru and other parts in West Godavari district, where Jagan had held a meeting a couple of days ago.
He sought to give a detailed explanation as to why he had to accept the special financial package given by the Centre.
“When there is no way we can get the special package, should we not welcome the money? Should we reject the funds being given by the Centre which are equivalent to the benefits obtained from the special status? I have done several developmental works even when there were no fund flow from the Centre. If we get funds, we can do much more work,” he said.
Naidu also sought to play with the sentiments of the West Godavari people on Polavaram project.
“The Centre has said it would bear the entire cost of Rs 30,000 crore incurred on Polavaram. Tell me, should I reject this offer? I am committed to completing the project withint the deadline and have bene overseeing the works personally,” he said.
He asked the youth not to fall into the trap of Jagan.
“If you listen to him, he will only tell you how to make money through illegal means and how to go to jail. He has not learnt lessons even after getting reprimand from the courts,” he said.
