Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao always compete with each other in several aspects.
They try to ape each other in announcing various schemes and programmes, besides lobbying with the centre in getting ranks in various fields such as Ease of Doing Business etc.
Now, Naidu and KCR seem to have continued their bitter race even in pampering badminton champion and Olympian silver medallist P V Sindhu. Both have announced a series of sops for her, but it is almost a year since they implemented them.
Now, suddenly Naidu realised it and announced that his government would give Group-I officer job to Sindhu.
On Wednesday, his cabinet approved the decision to give her Group-I job. She has already given her consent and soon, she would be joining the job.
Apparently realising that he is lagging behind, KCR on Thursday released orders allotting 1000 square yards of plot to Sindhu at Bharani Layout, in the posh Jubilee Hills area.
Though the announcement was made long ago, the government was somehow dodging the same in allotting the plot. When Naidu took the decision to give her a job, KCR also reacted quickly and issued orders.
It would have been nice, if both the chief ministers competed with each other in implementing welfare schemes for the poor and farmers.
