Hyderabad: Calling the bluff of Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress has said the TDP President has been trying to usurp credit for the Totapalli reservoir project, for which he had laid foundation stone way back in 2003.
‘Chandrababu Naidu has the history of laying foundation stones but not completing the projects and he has been giving the impression that he has been working on the project ever since he had laid the foundation stone, unmindful of his status in the State assembly the ambitious Jalayagnam project taken up by YSR,’ party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Thursday.
The project, which provides irrigation facilities to the north coastal Andhra districts, received a fillip during YSR term and the TDP President has been practicing marketing strategy in governance and trying to make people believe that it has been his dream project, he said.
He has been hijacking credit for projects to which his contribution is meager or nothing by employing marketing strategies and he has never been known for completing the projects but only to lay foundation stones.
He went by a chopper and laid foundation stone to Devadula in a hurry and it was left in the lurch, there was no follow-up and the Polavaram is in a stand-still position and the Pattiseema as well, he dedicated to the nation on August 15 even without completing the project.
His party has been boasting of inter-linking of rivers, but it has been inter-linking of funds from the state ex-chequer to his favoured few, Rambabu said.
Even on earlier occasion, Chandrababu Naidu took credit for Pulichintala, while the entire project was expedited during YSR term.
On the reservations to the Kapu community, he said, ‘the state should fulfill its poll promises and set up a committee to study the socio-economic conditions of the community for providing reservations to make it legally binding.’
