AP Capital Area 270 Sq Km

Amaravathi, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, will come up on the banks of Krishna river between Vijayawada and Guntur, in an area of 270 sq km.

The master plan prepared by the Singapore government was approved by AP government on Monday. Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran and his team handed over the master plan to Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The Singapore minister said the master plan will guide the development of Amravathi up to 2050.

The capital would be developed in five sectors, with industrial corridors, world-class express highways, sports stadium on the banks of Krishna river, 324 km long roads including highways, a massive park in the centre of the capital in the name of Brahma Sthan, vehicle free zones, affordable housing, easy access to amenities such as schools, healthcare services, markets, and shopping malls, libraries and a university.

The master plan has five key features of the Amaravathi master plan are growing a vibrant economy, creating a livable Indian city, enhancing connectivity and active mobility, ensuring sustainability and  the People’s Capital.

Villagers who had surrendered their lands for the capital city would receive plots of commercial and residential land in the city and share in the fruits of development for years to come, officials sources said.
