The Tadipatri court in Anantapur district questioned the police, saying, “All the sections filed against YSRCP spokesperson Karumuri Venkat Reddy are bailable. Before arresting him, basic inquiry should be done. Why did you arrest him directly without any proper questioning?”
The court then granted bail to Venkat Reddy.
People are saying that Chandrababu’s government is acting in a harsh and one-sided manner, threatening people with the Red Book and trying to silence voices that question it.
Karumuri Venkat Reddy, the YSRCP spokesperson, was arrested in Hyderabad on Tuesday in an illegal manner.
Police claimed that he posted content on social media insulting the government, and made politically motivated posts about the suspicious death of former TTD AVSO and Guntakal Railway Inspector Satish Kumar.
Based on a complaint filed by a TDP leader from Tadipatri, some people in civil dress came, introduced themselves as police, and arrested Karumuri without giving any notice. They then took him to Guntakal.
After this, Karumuri’s wife Haritha filed a complaint at Kukatpally Police Station in Hyderabad.
