Troubles continue to haunt Kavitha!

Troubles continue to haunt Kavitha!

The Delhi excise policy case continues to create troubles for Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, as a Delhi court on Saturday extended her custody by the Enforcement Directorate by three more days.

At the same time, the ED authorities conducted raids on the residences of Kavitha’s close relatives in connection with the liquor scam.

A team of ED officials came to the residence of Akhila, sister-in-law of Kavitha, at DSR Homes at Madhapur at around 6.45 am and conducted searches.

Akhila is the sister of Kavitha’s husband D R Anil Kumar. Apparently, the ED authorities found her name in the bank transactions of Anil Kumar, when they searched his premises on the day of Kavitha’s arrest on March 15.

According to reports, the ED searches went on till evening and they reportedly seized some papers. Unconfirmed reports said a separate team of the ED also searched the homes of Anil Kumar’s other relatives in Hyderabad.

Earlier, the ED officials questioned two personal assistants of the BRS leader and seized their mobile phones. The agency is looking into their alleged role in deleting data from mobile phones.

Kavitha, daughter of BRS President and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was arrested by the ED in Hyderabad on March 15. The same day she was taken to Delhi and remanded to ED’s custody.

As the custody ended on Saturday, the ED sought extension of her custody by five more days, but special judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Courts in Delhi granted only three days of her custody till March 26.
