NTR's Dragon Shaken By Delays, Casting Exit

NTR's Dragon Shaken By Delays, Casting Exit

The much-anticipated Dragon has reportedly undergone major changes, affecting both its production timeline and casting decisions.

After Tovino Thomas confirmed that he is no longer part of the film, it has become clear that the project has gone through multiple revisions.

Tovino had initially agreed to play a role with negative shades and had even waited for several months to begin shooting.

However, director Prashanth Neel is said to have scrapped some of the portions filmed during the first schedule.

Following a major shooting schedule in coastal Karnataka, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. was reportedly not satisfied with the look of his character and certain sequences. This is said to have led to a pause in production for several months, causing further delays.

The film was originally planned for a June 2026 release, but it has now reportedly been pushed to summer 2027, indicating a delay of more than a year.

These prolonged schedules are believed to be one of the main reasons behind Tovino Thomas opting out, especially considering his busy commitments in Malayalam cinema.

The makers are yet to officially announce the full cast, although Rukmini Vasanth is rumoured to be the female lead. Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor recently hinted at his involvement by sharing updates related to the film’s shoot.

Adding to the production challenges, the team reportedly had to cut short an action schedule in Jordan due to geopolitical tensions in the region.

With multiple hurdles affecting the film’s progress, fans are now eagerly waiting to see whether the makers will unveil the film’s title or release a glimpse on May 20, coinciding with NTR’s birthday.
