Suspicions Over Viveka's Death?

Suspicions Over Viveka's Death?

The sudden death of Y S Vivekananda Reddy, younger brother of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, at his residence in Pulivendula in Kadapa district on Friday morning came as a rude shock to his family members and also YSR Congress party rank and file.

Though initially it is said Viveka died of cardiac arrest, the manner in which his body was found in a pool of blood in bathroom created a lot of suspicions.

His personal assistant Krishna Reddy lodged a complaint with the police expressing suspicions over his death and the police immediately shifted his body to the hospital for post-mortem.

According to the complaint, there were severe injuries on the body, his eye was bruised and blood was oozing out of his nose and eyes. His legs and hands were also said to have received injuries.

Soon after receiving the complaint, the police pressed its dog squad into service to find out whether somebody had entered his house and attacked him.

His wife was away in the US to see his daughter. So, there was none at home and his body was noticed by the servant maid early in the morning.

It was only on Thursday morning that Viveka took part in campaigning in Pulivendula and he also participated in the agitation against deletion of voters in the constituency.

Since Viveka was non-controversial and had been friendly with everybody including his political rivals, there is no way he could have become a victim of political factions.

It remains to be seen whether the injuries were due to sudden fall in the bathroom or due to assault by anybody. Mystery would be resolved once the port mortem report comes out.
