For the last two days, there have been reports and images on social media showing tipper trucks bearing the name “Pemmasani” that are involved in sand mining and transport, triggering rumours that they belong to Telugu Desam Party MP from Guntur and Union minister for rural development Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and he is involved in illegal sand mafia activities.
Reacting sharply to these posts, the Union minister issued a strong clarification denying any direct or indirect involvement in sand mining, transportation, logistics, or related commercial activities.
He said he was compelled to respond after his name was allegedly misused for unlawful activities, tarnishing his public image.
He categorically stated that he has no business interests in real estate, mining, transport, or logistics sectors, either personally or through proxy arrangements.
He further clarified that he neither owns nor operates any logistics companies in India, nor does he promote or support such ventures.
The minister warned that any individual or group found using his name or brand for illegal activities would face legal action.
“If any false publicity, advertisements, or photographs are being circulated using my name, they are completely baseless,” he said.
In another related clarification, Pemmmasani Infratech India Private Limited, headed by Srinivas Pemmmasani, has been operating a stone crusher unit at Kondapalli since 1995.
He also rejected allegations linking his family members to illegal operations and reiterated his commitment to Amaravati’s development.
He said he strongly condemned what he termed as “deliberate misinformation and malicious propaganda.”
