Opinion: Naidu, A Habitual Liar

Opinion: Naidu, A Habitual Liar

Strange are ways of former chief minister and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu. He is good at changing his statements often or speaking blatant lies.

He strongly believes that peoples’ memory is too short and they will believe whatever he says. And he repeats his lies for this reason.

The other day in Visakahaptnam at the party meeting, Naidu said that late Rajasekhar Reddy was scared of him in the Assembly session, but Jagan is behaving like a rowdy.

In no time, social media started trolling him for this statement showing how Rajasekhar Reddy took Naidu to task in the Assembly.

At the same Visakhapatnam meeting, while admitting his mistake of fighting against the BJP-led NDA government before the 2019 elections, Naidu said, “I have nothing personal against (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi. I only fought (the election) against him in the interests of the State.”

But, Naidu went very personal against Modi during his 2019 election campaign. He rallied with the non-BJP leaders and even aligned with the Congress, keeping his 30-year long differences.

In April 2019, at his one of the election campaign, Naidu said, “Narendra Modi is publicity PM and not performing PM. All leaders are better than Modi. KCR, Jagan and Modi are all together against me. Modi is a hard core extremist. He is not a good man.”

When he said Modi is a hard core extremist and not a good man, was it not a personal attack?

But his statement that he has nothing personal against Modi is a sign of buying peace with Modi and the BJP leadership.

His loyalists, Y S Chowdary and C M Ramesh, are already in the BJP softening the saffron party’s line against Naidu.

Naidu looks more worried after Modi-Shah sending Chidambaram to the jail. He is said to be worried about the 18 cases filed against him and pending in various courts with stay orders.

Besides, the BJP is also said to have enough evidence to prove corruption in NREGS, Polavaram and Amaravati projects, on which Jaganmohan Reddy government is seriously working to uncover the TDP’s corruption.

It is in this backdrop, Naidu comes out with a fresh statement to cool the BJP leaders and buy peace with them.
