Cadre Upset Over Jagan's MAVIGUN Proposal

Cadre Upset Over Jagan's MAVIGUN Proposal

The cadre of YSRCP appear to be upset with Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's latest political statement.

The reason is his recent proposal of a new economic zone concept called MAVIGUN.

According to his idea, the Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur belt could emerge as a major economic zone in the near future if his party returns to power.

However, many party workers feel that such announcements are creating confusion.

During his tenure between 2019 and 2024, Jagan proposed the three capitals formula with Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Kurnool sharing administrative responsibilities. That proposal  ultimately did not materialize.

Now, shifting the focus toward the MAVIGUN concept while leaving the earlier framework behind is being seen by some within the party as a lack of consistency.

This comes at a time when the current government is trying to revive Amaravati and restore investor confidence in the region.

While Jagan has every right to support or oppose the move politically, introducing a completely new concept like MAVIGUN is being viewed by many cadres as unnecessary diversion.

Interestingly, party workers had recently felt encouraged by signs that Jagan was reorganizing leadership within the party and correcting earlier mistakes.

But this new announcement has once again left many supporters confused and disappointed.
