Naidu to field NRI doc from Guntur LS seat!

Telugu Desam Party resident and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is all set to field a prominent NRI doctor Pemmasani Chandrasekhar from Guntur parliamentary constituency, according to reports leaked to the local media for the last couple of days.

Naidu has zeroed in on Pemmasani after sitting MP Galla Jayadev decided not to contest the elections this time and take a break from active politics for a few years to concentrate on his business activities.

Incidentally, Pemmasani is closely related to Galla Jayadev and a distant relative of Mahesh Babu. He is also a native of Burripalem of Tenali assembly constituency of Guntur district.

He has been a member of the TDP for quite some time, looking after the activities of its NRI wing. He actively conducted the party programmes while he was in America. In fact, Pemmasani tried for Narasaraopet Lok Sabha ticket in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but Naidu had to give the ticket to Rayapati Sambasiva Rao as promised.

This time, too, Pemmasani was trying for the TDP ticket from Narsaraopet constituency, as his family is settled there and his father is running a  hotel business. In fact, he had his schooling in Narsaraopet only before doing his MBBS from Osmania University.

Naidu has almost okayed it, but now with sitting YSR Congress party MP Lavu Krishna Devarayalu quitting his party and is all set to join the TDP, Naidu might have to oblige him, sources said.

At the same time, since Naidu was looking for an alternative to Galla in Guntur, he found Pemmasani suitable for the seat and is likely to give him the party ticket, sources said.
