Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, Sreeleela, and Raashii Khanna, has completed its first day at the Indian box office with a decent start.
Despite strong competition from Dhurandhar 2, the film has managed to make its presence felt in the Telugu market. Early trends indicate that it has recorded the third-biggest opening for a Tollywood film in 2026.
The film had been in the making for a long time and finally hit theatres after multiple delays.
Compared to Pawan Kalyan’s earlier film OG, this project had relatively low buzz and largely depended on the actor’s star power.
As expected, Pawan Kalyan’s stardom helped the film open well, even though the initial reviews and word of mouth are mixed.
The Ugadi holiday in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also contributed to the opening day numbers.
On Day 1, the film collected around ₹31.5 crore net in India, taking its gross to approximately ₹37.17 crore. While these numbers may appear slightly underwhelming considering Pawan Kalyan’s star power, they still reflect a solid opening overall.
The film’s performance was somewhat affected by the release of Dhurandhar 2, which diverted a section of the audience. Without this competition, the numbers could have been higher.
With this opening, Ustaad Bhagat Singh has secured the third spot among the biggest Tollywood openings of 2026.
It stands behind Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (₹41.6 crore net) and The Raja Saab (₹62.9 crore net), which currently holds the top position.
