Naidu Bats For Pawan, Farmers

TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, who joined the Amaravati farmers’ protest on Wednesday blamed the state government for creating hurdles for the visit of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to the capital villages on the other day.

He questioned the government for using police to stop Pawan Kalyan from visiting the villages and meeting the farmers.

“Had I (as chief minister) created such problems were you (Jagan Mohan Reddy) be able to complete your padayatra,” Chandrababu Naidu asked.

The TDP chief visited the protesting Amaravati farmers in Yerrabalem and Mandadam villages on the New Year Day along with his wife Bhuvaneswari and extended support to them.

Unmindful of the allegations that Heritage Group headed by Bhuvaneswri had purchased 14 acres just outside the Amaravati capital city boundaries, the TDP chief and his wife blamed the government for killing the Amaravati project.

Chandrababu Naidu said he had collected 33,000 acres of land in addition to the 25,000 acres of government land in 29 villages. The land would be sufficient for the government to build the capital, he said.

The State government would have 10,000 acres of surplus land on hand after developing it and constructing the required buildings, the TDP chief said.

Chandrababu Naidu said he had developed Hyderabad with his Vision 2020 plan and had similar plans for Amaravati.

He blamed chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for destroying Amaravati plans. He said he wanted to make Amaravati as global destination and had created such plans.

While extending support to the farmers, the former chief minister said that he too would stay with the farmers until this government dropped the proposals of shifting the capital from Amaravati.
