KE Prabhakar in property dispute with son-in-law

A domestic dispute between senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former MLA K E Prabhakar and his son-in-law over a property in Hyderabad hit the headlines on Wednesday with both the parties to lodge police complaints against each other in Hyderabad.

According to police sources, Prabhakar, a former legislator from Kurnool district, filed a complaint with Rayadurgam police against two persons, said to be associates of his son-in-law Abhishek Goud, stating that they had attempted to illegally occupy his house in Panchavati Colony, Manikonda.

Prabhakar, who owns the residence, had 14 years ago married off his daughter to Abhishek Goud, son of former Patancheru MLA Nandishwar Goud.

The couple had been living in the Manikonda house for some years but later shifted to another residence.

During this period, Abhishek Goud reportedly floated a religious organization named Krishna Dharma Parishad.

In January last year, he took his father-in-law’s Panchavati Colony house on lease and spent nearly Rs 2 crore on renovating the property to establish the organization’s office.

About six months ago, however, Prabhakar is said to have informed the organization’s representatives that he intended to move back into the house permanently. He asked them to vacate the premises within two months.

Following this, Krishna Dharma Parishad shifted its operations elsewhere, and the matter appeared settled at the time.

The dispute reignited recently when representatives of the religious organization met Prabhakar, requesting that he once again lease the house for their office. Prabhakar reportedly refused, saying he would continue living there.

The organization claimed it had invested Rs 2 crore in refurbishing the house and demanded repayment, which Prabhakar allegedly declined — leading to renewed tensions.

Matters escalated on October 24, when the organization’s members, including one Ramu Yadav, allegedly visited the house in Prabhakar’s absence and locked it.

When Prabhakar returned the next day, he confronted Ramu Yadav and another representative Chintu, leading to a heated verbal altercation.

Following the incident, Prabhakar approached the Rayadurgam police, alleging that he and his security personnel had been threatened.

A case was subsequently registered. Meanwhile, Ramu Yadav and his associate Chintu also filed a counter-complaint, claiming that Prabhakar had threatened them with a gun.

Police confirmed that they received both complaints and that an inquiry was underway.

“We have accepted the complaint and are investigating. Appropriate cases will be registered based on findings,” officials said, adding that no gunfire occurred during the confrontation.
