Frustrated Nimmagadda on sacking spree!

Frustrated Nimmagadda on sacking spree!

Apparently frustrated with the setback he had received from the Andhra Pradesh high court over the conduct of gram panchayat elections in February, state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has started sacking officials one after the other.

On Tuesday, Nimmagadda removed commission secretary Vani Mohan from the post with immediate effect.

He said there was no need for her services in the commission and therefore, he was relieving her from the post immediately.

Apparently, Nimmagadda was upset with Vani Mohan for not following his instructions in filing a review petition in the high court.

He felt that her defiance amounts to indiscipline and therefore, he sought to take disciplinary action against her.

Nimmagadda has already initiated disciplinary action against SEC joint director G V Sai Prasad for going on leave for 30 days without getting it approved.

It came to his notice that Sai Prasad also asked all the employees of the SEC to go on mass leaves in protest against announcement of schedule for gram panchayat elections in February.

While sacking Sai Prasad from the duties, Nimmagadda also ruled that the former cannot discharge any other government service directly or indirectly.

It is learnt many more officials of the SEC are likely to face the axe from the SEC.
