Did Naidu call assembly marshal ba***rd?

YSR Congress party on Friday took the opposition TDP led by N Chandrababu Naidu to task for allegedly abusing assembly marshals while trying to gate crash into the assembly premises along with hundreds of party workers on Thursday.

The YSRC presented video clippings of Thursday’s tussle between the TDP leaders and the assembly marshals at the entrance in the House on Friday.

The video clipping clearly shows Naidu, his son Lokesh and other party leaders behaving in a highhanded manner while entering into the premises.

The marshals prevented them from entering the premises through the main entrance which is meant only for the chief minister and the Speaker and asked Naidu and other legislators from the gate meant for the MLAs.

When Naidu and others tried to barge into the premises, the marshals pushed them away and closed the gates. This led to a serious argument between the TDP leaders and the marshals.

While the marshals were found to be convincing the opposition members, Naidu was heard shouting at one of them (supposedly chief marshal) saying: “What is this? Ba…rd. Should I not enter the assembly?”

On the other hand, Lokesh was also shouting at the top of his voice and heard calling the marshal: “Useless fellow.”

He was also seen holding one of the marshals by neck and pushing him. Another person was heard saying: “How dare you prevent the opposition leader from entering the assembly?”

The marshals were only pushing the TDP workers, who are not the members of the House, as it is against the rules.

Reacting to the incident, YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said Naidu had indulged in unruly behaviour towards marshals, who were only performing their duty.

“Why was he trying to enter the assembly from the gate through which he is not supposed to enter? He abused a government employee in a filthy language, calling him ba…rd. And there was another person called Lokesh who had held a marshal’s neck,” he alleged.

Naidu clarified that he had only said: “what non-sense,” as he felt humiliated by marshals. How can they prevent the opposition leader from entering the assembly premises? He asked.

He said he would tender an apology, provided the assembly authorities also tendered an apology to him.
