The Bharatiya Janata Party has chosen to maintain stoic silence over the comments made by power star and Jana Sena Pary chief Pawan Kalyn expressing disgruntlement over the alliance partner and his meeting with Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
However, former chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh and present BJP leader IYR Krishna Rao came out with a surprising statement. He said there was no need for any apprehension on the part of Pawan Kalyan with regard to the alliance with the BJP.
“There is no need to worry about the roadmap from the BJP for continuing the alliance in the next assembly elections. It would definitely come sooner or later and at an appropriate time,” he said.
He said if both the BJP and Jana Sena Party work together sincerely and fight the elections with perfect coordination, there would definitely be a hung assembly in Andhra Pradesh.
“It will provide a golden opportunity to Pawan Kalyan to become the chief minister,” he said.
By saying that both the BJP and Jana Sena Party would have to work together and there would be a hung assembly in the state, IYR gave a clear indication that there would be no alliance whatsoever with the TDP.
He is predicting that in the event of a triangular fight, the BJP-TDP combine would emerge as the single largest party in the hung situation. In such a scenario, the TDP would have to extend its support to Pawan Kalyan and he could become the chief minister.
But, IYR is not the one who will decide the roadmap for the BJP. Obviously, these comments and predictions are his personal. Secondly, it appears Pawan Kalyan has already made up his mind to play a second fiddle to the TDP and is keen on bringing Naidu back to power.
Thirdly, even if there is no alliance and one expects a hung assembly scenario with BJP-Jana Sena combine emerging single largest party, one wonders whether Naidu would really help Pawan to become the CM.
Instead, he would like to pull as many MLAs as possible from Jana Sena. Having seen Naidu in such close quarters, IYR must have know about him more than anybody else!
