Better Check Facts Before Blaming, Mr Venkata Krishna!

On Friday, popular news anchor of ABN Andhra Jyothy channel Parvathaneni Venkata Krishna, who conducts debates on various topics aimed at targeting the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh for obvious reasons, resorted to a vitriolic attack on greatandhra.com, among others.

The reason for Venkata Krishna’s outburst was a report carried by greatandhra.com about a debate conducted by him the other day on the state high court taking suo motu cognizance of the withdrawal of 11 cases filed against chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The report said the channel had removed the hour-long debate from YouTube after Advocate General Subrahmanyam Sriram pointed out in the court that the channel conducted the debate on the report of the court’s administrative committee even before it was placed before the judge.

So, the report questioned how the channel which claims to have guts was so afraid that it had to remove the debate from the YouTube.

During the Friday’s debate, Venkata Krishna claimed that the debate footage was very much available on YouTube and greatandhra.com resorted to deliberate mudslinging.

Well, we, at greatandhra.com, wish to clarify that the report was carried after due verification. When we tried to open the YouTube link of the debate, it showed: “Private” indicating that it was available only for private audience but not public.

It was true that the debate was back on YouTube for public viewing a day later. Still, if there was any technical mistake in not accessing to the video of the debate on YouTube and if it was clarified to us in the form of a rejoinder, we could have carried it.

Instead, Venkata Krishna chose to attack us and sling mud at us.

What is worse, he went to the extent of alleging that greatandhra.com’s “Reddy” was working for chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as an advisor, drawing money from the government.

We strongly condemn this allegation. It is better Venkata Krishna check the facts before making such comments. Greatandhra was never and will never be part of any political system or the government. It has its own independent political views.

We carried many stories critical of the Jagan government and had we been part of the government, we would not have published them.

It is better Venkata Krishna makes an introspection as to what his and his organisation’s political leanings are, before slinging mud at the others.
