It was only last month that disgruntled YSR Congress party MLA from Mangalagiri constituency Alla Ramakrishna Reddy quit the party for being denied ticket in the coming elections.
Alla extended solidarity with Y S Sharmila, sister of YSRCP president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who joined the more or less defunct Congress party. He, too, is expected to join the grand old party very soon.
Now, it is now the turn of another dissident YSRC MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy from Rayadurgam assembly constituency in Anantapur district to find greener pastures in the Congress party.
On Tuesday, Ramachandra Reddy, along with his wife Bharati and daughter-in-law Alekhya, met former minister and Congress Working Committee member N Raghuveera Reddy at the latter’s village – Neelakanthapuram of Madakasira mandal and held discussions with the latter on his future course of action.
Apparently, Raghuveera Reddy invited Ramachandra Reddy into the Congress and promised that he would get the ticket from Rayadurgam and his son Praveen from Kalyanadurgam constituencies.
In all probability, the Kapu family would formally join the Congress in a day or two, after meeting AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs Manickam Tagore.
On the other hand, another YSRCP legislator from Penamaluru and former minister Kolusu Parthasarathy is learnt to have made up his mind to quit the party, after he was denied the ticket in the coming elections.
YSRCP president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly asked Parthasarthy to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Machilipatnam, but he flatly refused the proposal. He is keen on retaining his Penamaluru seat.
As the talks failed, Parthasarathy held discussions with his followers and decided to join the TDP. He got in touch with TDP legislator Velagapudi Ramakrishna and Bommasani Subba Rao, who negotiated with him on his conditions to join the TDP.
In all probability, he may be given the TDP ticket either from Penamaluru or Nuzvid assembly constituencies, sources said.
