Amaravati - two conflicting, contradicting arguments

There have been two conflicting and contradicting arguments these days against the present Akndhra Pradesh government’s plans to trifurcate the capital – legislative capital in Amaravati, executive capital in Visakhapatnam and judicial capital in Kurnool.

The opposition TDP and the leaders supporting this party, including the farmers holding protests against the government’s plans, have been putting forward two these conflicting and contradicting arguments.

Perhaps, they are not aware of the contradiction in their own argument or they strongly believe that people have no brain to understand this political game and believe whatever they say.

The first argument is that the plan to shift executive part of the capital from Amaravati is a political vengeance against Kamma caste, which is associated with the TDP.

Thus they admit that Amaravati is an aimed habitation of Kamma caste, which obviously people of other castes and the rationalists from Kamma caste oppose.

That way the claims of the TDP and its group singers of political vendetta against Kammas is disagreed and disproved.

The second argument is that Amaravati is the capital of everyone and the Assembly constituency is reserved for SCs. If one has to go by this argument, where does the scope for one to think that this government is working against Kamma caste with vengeance?

Interestingly, Kamma people, who are close to the TDP and who were part of the previous government, have invested more in the capital area by purchasing lands outside Amaravati city limits.

If the government’s claims, that Chandrababu Naidu had altered the city limits of Amaravati four times to benefit these investors, are to be believed, the contradictory and conflicting statements have their base in such changes made by the TDP government.

The fear is not about losing the capital from Amaravati, but losing the investments made in Amaravati and the huge profits anticipated from this dream city.

The digital projections given by Chandrababu Naidu in the last four years have even raised the hopes of the small Kamma farmers, who too are now on the streets.
