This is the dubbed version of the Tamil film Veeramae Vaagai Soodum. Not much publicity was done for this film in Telugu states but the film lovers looked up to this film as this is the only notable release this week.

Let us get into the details.

Story:
Porus (Vishal) is a responsible young citizen who aspires to join the police department. He is upset looking at the corrupted system around. His father is a Head Constable. Porus's sister Mythili (Raveena Ravi) is a college going girl. A stalker troubles her and keeps on harassing her.

Another girl, who is the daughter of an animal caretaker in a Zoo is also under the harassment from a top cop's son (Raja Chembolu).

On the other hand an activist (Elango Kumaravel) protests against the factory that emits poisonous gases causing cancer and other ailments to the people around. The owner of the factory and the wannabe politician is upset with this activist.

How these three stories culminate at a point and how everything affects Porus and his family is the crux of the film.

Artistes' Performances:
Vishal did his best in the lead role with a blend of being a common man and a macho fighter at times.

Dimple Hayathi is wasted. She has nothing prominent to play in the film other than just being the love interest of the male protagonist.

Tulasi is at her best in delivering the emotional side of a mother.

Raveena Ravi is ok as sister to Porus.

Raja Chembolu appeared in a not so important character.Comedian Yogi Babu didn't deliver any comedy.

Rest of all the actors are either under acted or over performed.

Technical Excellence:
Production values in terms of making are good though the selection of artistes could have been better. Cinematography is impressive and the editing is sharp.

Music didn't do any wonders and at the same time the BGM didn't disappoint. Songs are not upto the mark.

Saavanan's direction is mundane in parts but grips the interest as the story progresses.

Highlights:
Nothing specific

Drawbacks:
Lack of emotion
Heroine's track
Cliched narrative

Analysis:
The first few minutes of the film give an impression that it is going to hit hard on the heads of the audience. Lack of proper emotion is scene conception, weak performances by the actors and insipid dialogues put down the viewers. It appears like a C grade stuff until the actual story takes off.

Slowly the narrative picks up as three stories are opened up and run on parallel tracks simultaneously. The screenplay was engaging eventually towards the interval.

Though several attempts were made to make it appear as the direct Telugu film with signboards, locations etc, the Tamil flavor didn't go away from it due to the actors and their performances.

Though Vishal wanted to make it as a gripping and nail biting thriller, it didn't fulfil the purpose completely as there is no scope left for the audience to hold the interest and wait for any surprise.

Moreover, certain scenes related to the heroine are so cheap and made in bad taste.

Many liberties were taken and the contrived elements were planted for the convenience of the director.

Hero blocking his sister's number for fun sake is fine but not thinking about unblocking it when she is in trouble is the height of stupidity. This part is dealt with in a confusing way. Director made many such forced situations as per his comfort to narrate the story. The second part of the film is too lengthy to bear.

The title is Samanyudu but the protagonist doesn't look like an ordinary man. He fights and smashes 16 goondas single handedly in a fight.

On a whole, this is made for the B and C center audience with more emotional mass ideas than the logic and convincing narration. This is only for the audience who love to watch the stuff with outdated elements of drama.

Bottom line: Common man's revenge
