Kurremula Saikumar, a 31-year-old native of Nellutla village in Lingalaghanapuram mandal, Janagama district, died by suicide in a U.S. prison on July 26, 2025.
He was serving a 35-year sentence for child exploitation and distribution of pornographic content. The incident surfaced only recently.
He moved to the United States a decade ago and was residing with his wife in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Posing as a 15-year-old boy, he sexually assaulted three girls and allegedly threatened to share indecent images of 19 other girls on social media if they refused to comply with his demands.
Following complaints, the FBI registered a case against him in October 2023. Investigations revealed his pattern of sexual assault and harassment under a false identity.
On March 27, 2025, a US court sentenced him to 35 years in prison. Struggling with mental distress, Saikumar reportedly died by suicide in prison.
