Mahavatar Narsimha Surpasses Big Films on Day 9

Mahavatar Narsimha Surpasses Big Films on Day 9

Mahavatar Narsimha continues to surprise at the box office, proving yet again that the film industry is full of unpredictability.

Despite minimal promotions and being an animated film — a rare success genre in Indian cinema — it has outperformed several big-banner releases in its second week.

According to Sacnilk, on its second Saturday, Mahavatar Narsimha collected an impressive ₹15 crore, a remarkable jump from its first Saturday collection of ₹4.60 crore.

In just nine days, the film has grossed a strong ₹67.95 crore, and with its current momentum, it is on track to cross the coveted ₹100 crore mark soon.

What makes this feat exceptional is the film’s dominance over other recent releases.

Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated sequel Son of Sardaar 2, which opened to negative reviews and a lukewarm response, earned ₹7.25 crore on Friday and ₹7.50 crore on Saturday — barely half of what Mahavatar Narsimha earned on the same day.

Meanwhile, Dhadak 2 continues to struggle at the box office, bringing in just ₹3.75 crore on Saturday.

Even the romantic hit Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, saw a dip, earning ₹6.35 crore on its third Saturday — again trailing behind the animated spiritual epic.

Kingdom earned around 8.00 Cr India net on its third day for all languages.

Mahavatar Narsimha is the first installment in the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, developed by Hombale Films and Kleem Productions.

The franchise plans to chronicle the ten divine avatars of Lord Vishnu over the next decade.

Future releases in the lineup include Mahavatar Parshuram in 2027, Mahavatar Raghunandan in 2029, Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh in 2031, Mahavatar Gokulananda in 2033, Mahavatar Kalki Part 1 in 2035, and Mahavatar Kalki Part 2 in 2037.

With strong word-of-mouth, a unique animated format, and spiritual storytelling, Mahavatar Narsimha is emerging as one of the biggest surprises of the year — outshining big-budget live - action competitors and redefining what's possible for Indian animation at the box office.
