Manchu Vishnu’s magnum opus “Kannappa” has finally locked its digital home. The film will begin streaming on Prime Video from September 4, 2025.
The delay in its OTT debut fueled plenty of chatter in industry circles, with reports claiming that streaming platforms were reluctant to buy the film.
Generally, Telugu films debut on OTT after four weeks of the theatrical release. But “Kannappa” took more than 10 weeks to get this premiere date.
Prime Video officially closed the deal.
Announcing the news on X.com, Vishnu wrote, “Witness the epic, spirit of sacrifice & divinity. #KANNAPPA releases digitally on Sept 4, 2025 only on Prime Video.”
The devotional drama carries high-profile actors such as Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Kajal and Mohanlal in guest roles.
Despite its star-studded ensemble, the film’s theatrical performance was underwhelming, but its OTT run may offer it a second life among viewers.
