Director Nag Ashwin who celebrates his birthday today delivered one of the biggest blockbuster in Indian cinema with his last movie Kalki 2898 AD.
The director is now championing a long-cherished dream of veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.
Backing the ambitious project #SSR61 under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner, Nag Ashwin has stepped in as producer, bringing new momentum to the film, which is currently progressing with its shoot.
To mark the special day, the team unveiled a video that offers a heartfelt glimpse into the film’s journey.
In it, Singeetam reveals that he had narrated this story to several stars and producers over the years. While many appreciated the concept, the project never moved forward due to various reasons.
“It was Nag Ashwin who truly believed in the story and took the initiative to produce it,” he shares.
What makes this even more remarkable is that the story was conceived nearly four decades ago- making #SSR61 a vision that has stood the test of time.
The video also showcases Nag Ashwin’s active creative involvement in shaping the film, underlining his commitment beyond just production.
The makers have also confirmed that the film’s title and teaser will be unveiled soon.
