If the reports doing rounds in the political circles are to be believed, popular political strategist and Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor is going to be back in his old avatar to help opposition parties in the Telugu states.
According to these reports, Prashant Kishor has been in touch with Bharat Rashtra Samithi in Telangana for the last few days.
The party is said to be exploring the possibility of engaging Kishor’s services for the next elections.
Discussions are said to have taken place among close aides of party chief K Chandrashekar Rao.
“In all probability, Kishor might enter into action soon in the Telangana politics,” sources said.
In Andhra Pradesh, too, sources said efforts are underway within the YSR Congress Party to bring Kishor on board again for the 2029 elections.
It is learnt Prashant Kishor expressed his willingness, though a final decision is expected after discussions with Jagan Mohan Reddy.
An official announcement may be made at the party’s plenary if negotiations succeed, sources said.
Prashant Kishor, who rose to prominence through his work with I-PAC, played a key role in Narendra Modi’s 2014 victory and Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 2019 electoral success. He has also worked with leaders like M K Stalin and Mamata Banerjee.
Despite his national success, Kishor faced setbacks in his home state Bihar.
In the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections, he is believed to have contributed strategically to the Telugu Desam Party’s victory.
