Her Telugu debut “Devara” turned out to be a blockbuster, cementing her appeal in the South.
However, despite all the attention and media hype, she hasn’t been able to deliver a major hit in Bollywood.
Her latest Hindi release, “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari”, struggled at the box office, collecting under Rs 30 crore in its opening weekend.
In contrast, the Hindi-dubbed Kannada film “Kantara Chapter 1” posted an opening weekend of nearly Rs 70 crore.
The comparison makes it evident that Janhvi’s popularity on social media is not translating into strong box-office pull in Hindi cinema.
Janhvi is currently working on the big-budget pan-Indian Telugu film “Peddi,” but her standing in Bollywood remains shaky due to her low success rate.
