After Ramayana Trolls, Producer Says 'We're Listening'

After Ramayana Trolls, Producer Says 'We're Listening'

After a long wait, the teaser of Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, was finally released last week.

The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, immediately created huge buzz online.

While many viewers praised the scale and ambition of the project, the teaser also faced strong criticism from some sections of the audience.

A few viewers questioned the VFX quality, while others said they were still not fully convinced about Ranbir Kapoor playing Rama in such a prestigious mythological film.

Now, producer Namit Malhotra has responded to the mixed reactions.

Taking to social media, Namit thanked audiences for the overwhelming response and said the team is taking all the feedback seriously.

In his post, he wrote that the response over the last few days has been “overwhelming, inspiring, and humbling.”

He said seeing how Rama continues to touch hearts across the world fills him with deep humility and joy.

Namit also said he values the conversations, excitement, and feedback, adding that Ramayana is a story deeply rooted in the souls of billions and deserves the utmost care.

Importantly, he made it clear that the team is paying close attention to the audience reaction.

He said that the thousands of artists and collaborators working on the film are now even more motivated and energized to deliver the best possible output in every department.

In a key line from his message, Namit wrote: “We’re listening closely, working diligently, and pouring every effort possible into honouring it with the reverence it holds.”

He also described the project as “our Ramayana”, saying it belongs to everyone and carries a huge emotional responsibility.

According to him, the team is working every day with the aim of making every Indian feel proud.

He added that what the audience has seen so far is “just the beginning”, and that the film is being designed as a grand cultural and cinematic celebration for Diwali.

The teaser itself gave audiences a look at Ranbir Kapoor in multiple shades of Rama from intense action moments to forest exile scenes all presented with grand visuals and mythological scale.

The film has already become one of the most talked-about projects in Indian cinema because of its massive budget.

In an earlier interview, Namit Malhotra had revealed that the total budget for both parts of Ramayana would be around $500 million, which is over ₹4,000 crore.

He said the project had been in development for six to seven years, and many people initially thought such a large-scale Indian film was impossible.

Ramayana Part 1 is currently scheduled for release on Diwali 2026.

The film also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, and Ravi Dubey in important roles.
