YSR Congress Party workers have been strongly protesting against ABN-Andhra Jyothy, accusing the channel of making highly objectionable and insulting remarks against women and their personal relationships.
The issue has triggered a strong reaction from YSRCP leaders and supporters throughout the day.
Now, in a surprising development, actress Poonam Kaur has extended support to Jagan’s followers in this matter.
Reacting on social media, Poonam said that strict action is necessary against those who insult women and demean their personal relationships.
She stated: “Jagan Mohan Reddy’s followers have taken action against those who made offensive remarks against women and insulted their relationships. Such action is necessary now. If anyone makes such comments, this is exactly the kind of response they should face. As I have said before, today’s news channels have become nothing but blackmail boxes.”
With this statement, Poonam openly backed the stand taken by Jagan’s supporters.
At the same time, she also recalled how the same channel had allegedly treated her badly in the past.
She wrote: “Watching the protests happening today at ABN channel reminded me of that day — the day they attacked me in a very cruel manner and completely distorted my life. That political chaos has still not ended. I fought my battle silently in my own way. But no one ever expressed regret or even apologised to me.”
Poonam Kaur, who often makes indirect comments against Pawan Kalyan, is also known for reacting on social media whenever she feels women are being unfairly targeted.
This time too, she responded in a similar way and ended up giving unexpected support to Jagan’s followers in the ongoing controversy.
